Pet-friendly cleaning products: what we use and why it matters

Living room after a standard clean

Most of the homes we clean in Broward have at least one animal in them. Dogs in Parkland and Coral Springs, cats in the condos, the occasional rabbit. The products we bring have to be safe for all of them, and for the toddler crawling across the same floor an hour later.

What pet-friendly means in practice

No bleach on floors where paws walk. No ammonia, which cats in particular react badly to. No strong fragrance that lingers, because animals live closer to the floor and breathe more of it than we do. Products that are effective on hair, dander and the smells that come with pets, without leaving residue behind.

If you prefer a specific product of your own, leave it out with a note and we use that instead.

What to tell your cleaner

  • Allergies or sensitivities, human or animal.
  • Where the animals will be during the clean, and whether a door should stay closed.
  • Anything they are scared of, like the vacuum, so we can work around it.
  • Where the litter tray and the bowls are, so they are cleaned and put back in the same spot.

Why it is not optional for us

A clean that makes the dog sick, or that a cat avoids the room for, is not a good clean. Pet-friendly products are part of the standard clean in every home, at no extra cost, on every plan. It is one of the three things we never skip; the others are on the about page.
