Ask five cleaning companies in Broward what a clean costs and you will get five different answers, most of them "it depends". That is honest, but not useful. Here is what it depends on, so you can read any quote you get.
Size sets the baseline
Beds and baths are the quickest proxy for how long a clean takes. A two bed, one bath condo in Wilton Manors is a different job from a five bed, three bath house in Weston, and the price follows the hours. Square footage matters less than people think; a big open-plan living area is faster to clean than three small rooms.
Condition sets the first visit
A house that has been cleaned every other week is quick to keep that way. A house that has not been cleaned in six months needs a deep clean first: baseboards, grout, the inside of the oven, the tops of the fans. Most companies, us included, price the first visit on a new plan as a deep clean and the plan price from the second visit on.
Frequency changes the per-visit price
This is the part that surprises people. Weekly is cheaper per visit than biweekly, and biweekly is cheaper than monthly, because the house never gets far from clean. Add-ons are priced when you ask
Inside the fridge, inside the oven, laundry, organizing, interior windows. None of these are part of a standard clean, and any company should tell you the price before doing them, not after. Transparent pricing means the invoice matches the number you agreed to.
What to ask before you book
- Is the price per visit or per hour? Per visit is predictable; hourly rewards slow work.
- Does the first visit cost more, and why?
- What exactly is on the checklist, and what is an add-on?
- Are products safe for pets and children?
- Will I get a written price before anyone starts?
