A turnover is not a house clean. The bar is different: a guest has never seen the place before, has your listing photos in their head, and will notice anything that does not match. Here is the checklist we run for hosts in Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Pompano and Deerfield.
Entry and living area
- Floors clean to the corners, including under the sofa.
- Remote, chargers and guest book where the photos show them.
- Cushions and throws staged the same way every time.
- Glass and screens streak-free; balcony swept.
Kitchen
- Fridge empty except what you leave for guests; shelves wiped.
- Dishwasher run and emptied; nothing in the sink.
- Coffee, tea, sugar, oil, salt and pepper restocked from your supply.
- Trash out, new liners in, recycling clear.
Bedrooms
- Beds stripped and remade with fresh linens, hospital corners if that is your style.
- Under the bed and behind the nightstands checked for anything left behind.
- Extra pillows and blankets where the listing says they are.
Bathrooms
- Not a single hair. This is the one guests write reviews about.
- Towels folded and stacked the same way; hand towel, bath mat, washcloths counted.
- Toilet paper stocked with a spare; soap and shampoo topped up.
- Shower glass squeegeed, drain checked.
Before you lock up
- Photograph every room. It proves the state you left it in and catches anything you missed.
- Note anything low, damaged or missing and tell the host before check-in.
- Thermostat, lights and locks set the way the host wants them.
